Breast reduction surgery typically requires three to four hours under general anesthesia.
Techniques used can vary depending on the desired outcome but often include the removal of excess tissue through incisions that can be concealed under natural contours or clothing.
Anesthesia:
You will receive general anesthesia to ensure comfort throughout the surgery.
Incision Placement:
Incisions are made, typically either around the areola and down to the breast crease, or more extensive patterns depending on the amount of reduction needed.
Tissue Removal:
Excess fat, skin, and glandular tissue are removed to reduce breast size.
Reshaping + Closure:
The remaining tissue is reshaped, and the nipple and areola are repositioned to a more youthful height. Incisions are closed with sutures, and the area is bandaged.
