Breast reconstruction typically takes 1 to 6 hours, depending on the complexity and the technique used. It can be performed immediately after a mastectomy or delayed until after other cancer treatments are completed.
This surgery may require a hospital stay of 1 to 3 nights, followed by several weeks of recovery at home.
Anesthesia:
You will receive general anesthesia to ensure comfort throughout the surgery.
Incision Placement:
Depending on the type of reconstruction, incisions are made either for implant placement or for flap techniques using your tissue.
Reconstruction:
The breast shape is reconstructed using either implants or autologous tissue.
Nipple and Areola Creation:

Closure and Recovery:
Incisions are closed with sutures, and the recovery process begins, with detailed care instructions provided by the surgeon.
